My phone is taking forever to get its initial GPS fix. What’s wrong with it?
The first ping usually takes the longest. To help this process put the phone near a window or in the car for a clear signal. Give it up to 30 minutes. If it still has not got a GPS fix then contact your dealer or Trackem® for further troubleshooting.

Can the handsets autostart?
Most of the Motorola cell phones can have applications on auto-start. When this is set, Trackem will launch whenever the phone is turned on. The splash screens shows on the phone, and there is no way of having it start up completely hidden. To set this up, go to: Menu > Settings > Personalize > Power-Up > Set to TrackemPlus.

Does the handset work in buildings?
Your handset will not get a new GPS fix while inside a building. GPS needs line of sight to the sky to function properly. If Trackem is running, the time spent inside a building will count as a 'Stop' by our system. When the handset is back outside, normal GPS hits should begin again.

If my battery is very low will Trackem® still Transmit?
GPS will stop transmitting when battery is very low. The GPS chipset in the phone automatically shuts off when low on battery to conserve power for an emergency phone call, if needed. Trackem does not shut down though. If your battery gets low and you believe Trackem has stopped, plug in your phone, and restart Trackem.

Will my GPS work when I am using my phone?
No. Data transmissions will not take place while you are using the voice portion of the phone. The application remains on, and as soon as you stop talking on the phone, Trackem will resume normally.
